Adopting/Releasing a Pet
Our Adoption Policy
The adoption fee varies based on the type of animal, age, and unfunded medical treatment received. A portion of the fees collected also help HHP pay for basic needs and the spaying and neutering of other pets in the facility.
HHP will gladly answer any questions and assist whenever possible after the completion of adoption. Please remember that HHP will accept relinquishment of the pet if, after adoption, you determine that your home is not a good match for the pet.

Relingquishment Instructions
How to Relinquish an Animal
HHP is able to house up to 100 cats and 40 dogs at its facility. As such, we do not accept drop offs and are able to take in pets only when space is available. Please call us at (406) 860-8735 to coordinate relinquishment and provide information about your pet so that we are best suited to provide an appropriate home in the future. We always have room for puppies and will help spay the mother. A financial donation is greatly appreciated to help defray the cost of veterinary care, housing, and food for your relinquished pet(s).
If You Have Lost or Found an Animal
We are committed to reuniting lost pets to their owners, and are happy to log information about a lost or found pet in case it is turned in to our shelter. Please call (406) 896-1700 and leave a detailed message including your name, phone number, and complete description of the lost or found pet, the date it was lost or found, and the location. Your call will be returned promptly.
